Hundreds of species of antbirds are found in tropical American forests. Antbirds generally don't eat ants, but instead follow them, especially swarming ants, and pick off fleeing insects. Antbirds range in size from small Antvireos and Antwrens to larger Antbirds and the largest jay-sized Antshrikes.
